An ex-sailor from Phoenix accused of passing on naval secrets to terrorists will be tried early next year.
According to a Department of Justice statement issued Wednesday, Hassan Abujihaad goes on trial at the U.S. District Court in Bridgeport, Conn. beginning Feb. 25.
Abujihaad, formerly known as Paul R. Hall, allegedly gave out secret information about the location of Navy ships and the best ways to attack them. He was arrested in March and indicted on charges of material support of terrorism and disclosing previously classified information relating to the national defense. He is being held without bond.
Abujihaad left the Navy in January 2002.
