Pakistan, U.S. to continue fight against terrorism

Pakistan and the United States will determine to continue in fighting against terrorism with Washington assuring Islamabad of all possible assistance in economic and defense sectors, the Pakistani newspaper The Nation reported Tuesday.
During Monday's meetings between the visiting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Richard A. Boucher and Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to fight against terrorism, the report said.
Boucher assured the Pakistani official of continued U.S. assistance to Islamabad in economic and defense sectors, it added.
During talks, the two sides discussed the latest situation in Afghanistan, including India-Pakistan peace process, nuclear energy cooperation and the recently carried out air strike on a religious seminary in Bajaur tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
Both sides also exchanged views on counter-terrorism cooperation, according to the report.
