Opposition to Define Mexican Future

Mexico, Sep 16 (Prensa Latina) Opposition leader Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador stated that the Democratic National Convention to be carried out on Saturday at the Constitution Square will be a historical event as it will define the future of the Mexican nation.

The meeting called for a day after the Electoral Court's Judicial Power voted in favor of the validity of the elections held on July 2 and proclaimed Felipe Calderon as the president elect, is intended to meet a million Mexicans rejecting the alleged violation to the democratic right.

According to the opposition's proposals, that will be an appropriate opportunity to appoint a legitimate people, who will tour throughout the entire country, including communities and towns to hear the people's demands.

Encouraged by the premises that the people has the right to modify the strategies of government in cases of fraud and intentions to hamper their presidential elections, the mass convention will take place after the military parade to commemorate the Independence Day.

Meanwhile in his speech on the 196th anniversary of the National Independence, Minister of Interior Carlos Abascal called on the masses to maintain national unity, leave behind the post electoral differences and contribute to the development of a democratic revolution.
