TWO Uganda brothers, Yassin, 22 and Hassan Mutegombwa, 20 on Monday became the first people to be charged under the Terrorist Act 2006.

The act was enacted in March as a result of the July 2005 London bombing that killed 53 people.

The two residents of Upper Norwood, South East London were arrested during a series of raids across London.

With co-accused Musa Ahmet and Mustafa Abdullah, the brothers, who hail from Kyaggwe in Mukono appeared before the City of Westminster magistrate on Tuesday, and were remanded in Belmash Prison, London until October 10 when they will appear at Old Bailey for a committal hearing.
