Dangerous prisoners on hunger strike

ISLAMABAD: Nineteen prisoners, including those involved in attacks on the president and the prime minister, are on a hunger strike in Adiala Jail to protest their ill-treatment by jail officials, sources told Daily Times on Thursday.
They said Malik Feroz and Noor Hassan Bagiala, the jail deputy superintendents, had ordered to keep cell no 2 closed, where these prisoners were kept. Sources said the prisoners were also denied medical treatment.
They said Nasrullah, Nawazish, Niaz, Karam Din, Rana Faqirullah, Safeer Ahmed, and Mushtaq, involved in an attack on the president; Abdul Munieem, Abdul Basit, and Nisar, convicted for an attack on the prime minister; Noor Badshah, Ahmed Khan, Farhad and Akram, implicated in the Al-Rashid trust case and British nationals Rashid Rauf and Aurangzeb Ahmed were among those on the hunger strike. Aadiala Jail Superintendent Mirza Shahid Saleem Baig told Daily Times that he had received the information about the strike and said that it was it was baseless.
